In the early days of the solar industry, DC circuit breakers were regulated and approved for use.
However the DC circuit breaker shown above is the result of a customer shutting down the system incorrectly. Under full load, the circuit breaker began arcing internally and grew into a fire ball resulting in the above. It was just lucky the fire didn’t spread and cause more damage. If you have a DC isolator that looks the same or similar to the picture below, you need to upgrade the circuit breaker to an approved DC switch.
Be aware that you will also be up for the replacement cost of the DC circuit breaker along with the cost of the inverter replacement.
